Late Summer Rain

Hats cover bad hair days; head scarves cover really bad hair days.

Bad hair days, man, they can really get you down.

I'm no stranger to bad hair days, as one side of my head is inches shorter than the other from growing out an undercut. So, bad hair and I are like two peas in a pod. Most of the time, a hat and some bobby pins can make my unruly hair look acceptable but today? No, nothing could have made my freshly washed, yet for some reason oily and stringy hair, look acceptable. Normal people would probably have just washed their hair again, but, 1) I actually have thick hair. I know a lot of people say that, but no, my strands of hair are thick and I have a lot of thick, dense hair. Drying it takes hours and I don't use heat on it, as I have bleached ends and am not welcoming have broken off hair. And, 2) I already had a full face of make up on after I took my a hair down from it's usual nightly style. So, I looked down at my outfit, looked up in the mirror and said screw it, and donned a head scarf. It's not an actual head scarf, but rather, a thin square scarf that I don't wear, but hey, multi use items are great!


Today has been a long, rainy day. It went from a sun shining, birds chirping day, to a black skies and endless rain day in a matter of minutes. I was lucky to get these snaps in before the heavens opened up--it was sprinkling towards the very end of these. I chose a lightweight top and lightweight skirt for the humidity and my favorite pair of thrifted oxfords to make my outfit even more comfy. We traveled to a part of the city we haven't been to before, and so I wanted to be cute and comfy for the car ride. We met up with some friends and ate a new ramen place, which apparently makes us Indy ramen connoisuers? At least, that's what the opinion is, at least. Ramen is becoming as weekly tradition with us, as the Indy food scene is becoming more and more cultural and as we discover more of our small town big town


Also, check out the big Pekin ducks behind me! These two are always hanging out, which is weird, because Pekin ducks are a domesticated duck, so someone must have lost these two. We have a lot of geese and mallard ducks who hang around the apartments but not a lot of Pekins. I like to learn about the birds I throw bread to.
