It's almost 2017 and oh how time flies. 2016 has been a trying year for all of us and I can only hope that 2017 is better. But, with the inauguration of Hitler 2.0 approaching soon, it probably won't be.

My new years resolution is let my hair down more, literally. I've been pinning back my hair in the same way for years and I'm looking for a very basic change. Is it doable? Probably. Will I fail? Well lets just say that I'm a creature of habit. I know that that is such a cop-out for a resolution, but honestly, I'm not a New Years resolution person. If I'm going to change something major (like not drinking soda, which I stopped in mid-2014), I'm going to do it when I want to, not because the year changed.

I'm ringing in the new year with a glass of wine and clearance Christmas cookies, classic. I thought about doing a "Best of 2016" post, but this year has had so many changes that I didn't showcase on here that it would be one boring post! Instead, I thought I'd list some cool things that happened to me in 2016.

1) My best friend visited me! We've been in a LDF (long distance friendship) for almost 8 years now, but I'm so glad that we got to see each other again!

2) I started a new job. My old job was less than spectacular for both my mental and physical wellness.

3) I celebrated a happy 5 years with my boyfriend--we went to Chicago to celebrate where I physically felt awestruck by the towering buildings. I knew I was a city girl before that but this trip on solidified it.

So, yeah, there is not going to be any "New Year, New Me" plans from me, but that doesn't mean things won't change. Let's just hope they change for the better.

Have a great and safe New Years!
