LOOKBOOK | Late Summer & Pre-Fall

Monday, August 24, 2015

I'm excited to be sharing my new lookbook with you all!

The weather has taken a nose dive as of late and summer is definitely on it's way out!

I put together three late summer and pre-fall looks in a mini lookbook that include transitional pieces that can be worn in both summer and fall, like tanks, lightweight skirts, and button down dresses.

Pre-Fall Lookbook

Sunnies--eBay//Jacket--Vinted//Tank--H&M//Jeans--H&M//Boots--Thrift

The half bun has been in for a long while, and I thought it was time to try it on. It's alright, it looks far better on lighter hair.
Tanks are a seasonless item, believe it or not! From layering under a sweater in the winter to pairing with a skirt in the summer, you can make them work all year round. This tank is from H&M, and it's one of their incredibly inexpensive basics. It's a nice, loose fit, so it's great for those summer days, but it also works for the fall, because it's light enough to be able to put a jacket over without it bunching in weird places. I paired the tank with my fairly new faux leather jacket from Vinted and high waist skinnies, also from H&M. I finished this rather monochrome look with a pair of ankle boots and a pair of sunnies for a "don't mess with me" vibe. It's very fall looking, but the jacket is a nice lightweight one, so you won't sweat to death.

As the weather cools down, the darker colors come out to play. Black is the number one color in fall and winter for a reason, and that's because it's incredibly versatile, trend and classic, all at the same time. This black skirt is thrifted, and is a faux hi low. It has a nice chiffon/nylon outer skirt with a mini body con lining on the inside, perfect if you want to show a little leg but also be covered. I paired it with this thrifted orange tank for a pop of fall inspired color. This burnt orange tank is the only orange item I will ever own, but it's such a lovely color. I paired these two with a large brown tote, and matching brown sandals. Sandals are still very much appropriate in late summer, because they're cool enough for the still warm rays of sun, but they aren't going to let your feet freeze, either.

Pre-Fall Lookbook
 Hat--Thrift//Dress--Thrift//Clutch--Thrift//Sandals--Thrift

Shirt dresses have made a comeback lately, thanks to chambray, and I have to say, I'm loving the looks. I'm not a blue kind of girl, but chambray is such a flattering color and shade that I can't help but to succumb to the trend. This dress is actually a year or so old, and it was thrifted (as was this whole outfit) and I'm glad that it's going to be able to serve it's purpose for the late summer and early fall weather. For a summer vibe, I threw on a straw boater hat and some sandals. Nothing screams summer like straw.
