How to Tie Dye Eggs in 4 Easy Steps

Tuesday, March 22, 2016

Egg dyeing is a skill that I do not possess, so I try to do it as fool proof and as easily as possible. This method is not only clean, but also safe for the eggs!
And, you can do it in 4 easy steps!

And, voila! Abstract, tie-dyed eggs.

What's your favorite unconventional egg dyeing technique?
Image Map
1) Hard boiled eggs
2) Whip Cream
3) Glass dish
4) Liquid food coloring

1) Hard boil the eggs and let them cool completely.

2) Fill glass dish with whip cream and drop in food coloring in any pattern you like.

3) Gently place the eggs in the dish and roll them to get them saturated in the dye and the cream. Let them sit for at least 30 minutes. The longer you let them sit, the more vibrant the color.

4) Remove from the dye, wash them off with water, and let them dry on paper towels.

And, tada! tie dyed abstract Easter eggs,

Extra tips:

For brighter colors, soak the eggs in white vinegar for a few minutes before putting them in the whip cream.

You can make these monochrome, by using shades of the same color, you can marble these by using a black dye, and really just let your imagination run free.

  1. Hi! I found you through Modcloth! The leather jacket post from a few days ago listed it as coming from Vinted, does it still have the brand tag inside so I can hunt for it on eBay? It's basically perfect. :D
