I don't take chances.
Thrifted Blanket Scarf
Old Charlotte Russe Sweater
Whoa, brutal honesty coming at ya at the beginning of the new year, right? But, it's true, I have a tendency to stick to my comfort zone, but I know that I am capable of so much more, and that all it takes is some poking and prodding to create true to my style outfits.
I would be lying if I said that my inspiration hasn't dwindled since October. I stopped shopping at Forever 21, H&M, Charlotte Russe, etc, in October and I have no interest in shopping there any longer due to personal reasons. Because I've stopped shopping at omnipresent brands, it's become harder to find inspiration pieces. I've been trying to buy local, been trying to buy from smaller brands, been trying to invest in pieces, but with rebuilding and incorporating new pieces into my wardrobe, I've become a little stagnant in the style department. I made a post talking about this before, so I'll spare you the vent.
I took the purple in the skirt and balanced it with the purple of the scarf, and did the same with the sweater and boots. I don't know why I don't wear purple more, it is such a lovely color in moderation. I should make it a resolution to wear it more. I love that the purple and the brown go great together and the balance I was able to bring with both the purple and the brown.
So, how did I do? Would you guys like more of this kind of challenge, maybe a redemption round where I actually use the red color? Let me know down below!
