Anticipated Spring 2012 Fashion Trends

Happy New Year everyone! I hope your New Year is filled to the brim with happiness and joy and good fortune. :)

Out of all the forcasted trends for the 2012 Spring and Summer season, I only have a few ones that I fancy.

Oranges
(Steven Alan)
Oranges are in for the spring! Orange was all over the runways during New York's Fashion Week. The best part is, like any color, there is a shade of orange for every skin tone out there, so find the right one and get with it. From tangerine to pastel, there is an array of shades for you to choose from!
I love the color orange in moderation. I love very mild, very pretty oranges. Because I'm fair skinned almost to the point of transparency, its expected of me to wear a brighter color because it gives the allusion of a tan. But, I've learned to embrace my paleness so I plan on going with a more pale orange.

Pastels
(Carolina Herrera)

In my opinion, pastel shades are always in for spring. Not only because of Easter but because with all the budding flowers and the slow recovery of color from the colorless winter, pastels emerge as sign of hope for a new season. Pastels, too, were big on the runway at NY Fashion Week and give off a lowkey ladylike vibe, like you're channeling Queen Elizabeth.
I am such a fan of pastels; my favorite colors are pastels. I think they are so wearable and so pretty.

Peplum
(Cushnie et Ochs)

Peplum skirts, dresses and tops are flirty without even saying a word. Firstly, they sit on your natural waist which accentuates every body type, and secondly ruffles are tres chic, and super feminine. Femininity, if nothing else, never goes out of style.

Til next time,
xxKatie.
