Happy Independence Day!

It’s July 4^th here (and, I presume in most places) and that means its Independence Day here in the good ‘ol US of A. An obnoxious amount of red white and blue are spewed everywhere and outside smells like charcoal.

I went to Goodwill yesterday on the hunt for high waist jeans to cut into shorts. And, it was surprisingly easy to find! I spotted the jeans from the front of the store and immediately went towards them. The first pair I looked at was actually my size and it was an omen. And, they were only $3.99. I took them home, cut the legs off, did a tiny but of distressing, and washed them. It was a 2 am project. Now I feel like one of the cool kids, with my vintage high waist shorts. I’m going to wear the hell out of these, I can just tell.

I don’t really dress to celebrate holidays, and that includes Halloween. I don’t have that kind of energy nowadays. But, I did try, at least! I paired my high waist shorts with this striped tee and blue loafers; to add the blue, in the red, white and blue.

Now, to wait until my boyfriend gets home so we can celebrate the holiday.
