HOME | Washi Tape Decor

When you're a renter, it's pretty hard to decorate without breaking your lease. Washi tape is a great way to spruce up your space. The cool thing about washi tape? It peels off so easily and it doesn't damage walls or peel off paint. It's nearly perfect in every sense for decorating.

There are tons of pins on Pinterest about washi tape and it's wonders and I've been apart of the hype train for quite a while now, and now I'm showing off my washi tape home decor.

For this, I followed this tutorial for the honeycomb pattern.
I used a gold rose print washi tape because I love the added business of the print. Like it's little bees! The honeycomb pattern peeking out from behind the curtains and the standing lamp adds a little interest in an otherwise boring corner. This is my favorite thing I have found on Pinterest ever.

We had this big wall of nothingness next to our bed. My solution? Let's put up a deer.
I found a geometrical deer head silhouette I liked and so I used it as guidance while I used matte gold washi tape. It's one half Festivus, one half cruelty free deer head lodge decor!

I've seen this idea all over the place, mostly in dorms, but I still really love this! Using the same matte gold washi tape I used for the deer head above, I taped around and added decorative touches to photos on my in progress gallery wall. I like how neat yet imperfect the corners are because it's an added touch of character to a wall.
Washi tape is truly wonderful! You can find it nearly everywhere, sometimes it's called paper tape. I use Scotch Expressions, but there are tons of brands out there and they're super duper cheap.

  1. I LOVE washi tape! I have a few designs (bees, abstract yellow/red, and arrows) and I've been looking for inspiration for what to use them on. I'm glad I found this post!
