Accordion Pleats

Stripes and accordion pleats are a match made in fashion heaven.

 

Thrifted Hat (H&M) / Thrifted Tee (Zara) / Thrifted Skirt / Thrifted Boots / Assorted Jewelry  Man, I love when you find something you've been looking for for ages in the thrift store. I have been looking for an accordion pleated chiffon mustard skirt for YEARS but I couldn't justify spending upwards of $30 online for one, so I had all but given up hope until I saw this baby hanging in the wrong spot at Plato's Closet. It's gorgeous, it's me, and it's perfect for the season. If only Mother Nature knew what season it was.

Mustard yellow is the closest thing I can give to a favorite color. I think that it's the prettiest color and I love that it's both Spring and Fall, and styled the right way, could be Summer, too. Pairing yellow with other neutral family colors is my favorite fool proof way of styling it, so that's what I did here. I paired the skirt with a black and white striped top, and then added some booties because it's me, c'mon. A straw hat was just asking to join this outfit, and I joined the choker bolero train with this faux-turquoise one, With the addition of some lipstick, this outfit is just perfect!

Today was my last day in retail and I felt like dressing in a brighter color was necessary today.
