The Birthday Edit - 2018 Edition

It's my birthday!

Last year was quite the year--I was promoted, I got engaged, we moved across the city--and I hope this year can top it!

The coolest thing about having a birthday towards the beginning of the year is that it's easy to make wishes and resolutions, such as the above sentence. I try to make every year than the year before for a natural progression in life. It makes it easier and more rewarding to look at the past years of my life and see how much I have changed as a person, especially when you're making the effort to make your years better and better.

We just hosted some close friends for the weekend and we are worn out. Nothing wears you down more than trying to show someone your city while also being in a time crunch. I wanted to keep this day of Birthday shopping and lunch stress free and comfy, so naturally, I opted for a dramatic pink velvet skirt and mock neck top. Ya know, casual. You know me, I have to be the most dramatic looking person in the line at Ikea.

This pink velvet dream is just that, a dream. I thrifted it for $5 but the tag says A New Day, which is a fairly new Target brand. I found one similar, it's in the widget above! I love this millennial pink for the Spring and I even picked up a tote bag of the similar hue, ready to be worn when the temps warm up a little. Soon, I keep telling myself. Soon!
