Surviving Black Friday: The Employees
As someone who has both shopped and worked on Black Friday, I will be the first to admit that Black Friday is a horror show. The lines, all of the people, and all of the sales are overwhelming, if not horrifying, to some people. With the experience that I have shopping and working on this day, I thought I would make a survival guide for you Black Friday newbies. And, just in time, too.
If you're a shopper, view this post here!

It's somehow sad that Thanksgiving always gets the shaft for the holidays. Not as much fun as Halloween, not as much religious/global/ gifting/commercial opportunity as Christmas/Hanukkah/etc... But alas, we're all caught up in the holidays in the blogosphere. Between the gifts, the celebrations, the reflection of the year that's about to end, there's so much ground to cover! This week, we have a delightful round of holiday inspired posts to get you thinking about the rest of the year. Believe it or not... we don't have that much time left.Links à la Mode: November 21

Hello!
It finally did it, it finally snowed here. Which, to me, means that fall is slowly slipping away from us just as soon as it started. Quite literally, it is below freezing out and there is still remnants of orange leaves.
Monthly Obsession: Tartan Scarves

Tartan is one of my all time favorite prints for the autumn/winter time; it's timeless, warm, and it screams Christmas. Scarves are a great way to dive into the tartan trend without going overboard, like down below.
Since tartan is such a prominent print, you don't want to make the mistake of going overboard. It can stand on it's own, and it's perfectly capable of changing the entire feel of an outfit instantaneously.
To learn more on how to style tartan, check out my previous post here!
Have a safe and wonderful night!

I'm writing this from a hotel room in New York today. Coming to New York always makes me think about style... since NYC is probably one of the most stylish places in the world. What makes an outfit "work?" Is it the actual pieces, or your je ne sais quoi? Not knowing, or trying to quantify is what keeps the fashion media in business. Which is why I always love browsing through the links. This week we have all kinds of tricks and tips on how to style your wardrobe, how to put it all together, so whether or no you have that je ne sai quoi you'll at least look damn good.Links à la Mode: November 7th
